There are so many things I love about summer! Warm weather, pool days, flip flops! I’m not exaggerating when I say that I took the kids swimming every.single.day. last summer {if the pool was open and it wasn’t raining}. It was glorious!

When we lived in Chicago {born, raised and lived there until 4 years ago}, once summer hit, we always visited the beaches along Lake Michigan.  One of my main motivations for these beach trips was to eat at my favorite restaurant in the entire world {which has since closed down…whomp whomp}.

I’m actually not surprised they are closed, because even though they served the best Lebanese food I’ve ever eaten, they totally lacked in the customer service department. Literally over half of the times we went to eat there, the restaurant was closed when it should’ve been open…not the best business model if you ask me!  LOL!

This Honey-Sweetened Orange Blossom Lemonade was inspired by this restaurant. We would end our long beach days with a delicious meal accompanied by a giant glass of orange blossom lemonade and our hearts and bellies would be filled. When we moved to Utah, I knew I needed to create a healthier version of our favorite summer drink!

How to make this Healthy Lemonade Recipe

1. Use a Vitamix

This homemade lemonade recipe is made with only four ingredients and comes together in less than 5 minutes {with the help of a Vitamix}! If you don’t have a Vitamix, you can use another high powered blender. I love using a bledner because it ensures that there won’t be any chunky pulp! I have also included stovetop direction in the recipe!

2. Slowly add water/ice

Begin by adding 3 cups of water. If you want to hurry the cooling process along, you can add ice instead of the last 1 cup of water. Make sure you taste this homemade lemonade before diluting it with either water or ice, to be sure it suits your tastes!

Healthy Lemonade Recipe: Substitutions

There are only 4 ingredients, and one is water, so obviously there’s no substitute for that! 😉

  • Honey: you could use maple syrup, agave, or any other liquid sweetener to sweeten this lemonade, however honey is by far my favorite.
  • Lemon juice: Feel free to use fresh or bottled lemon juice. The only bottled variety I buy is Santa Cruz Organic because it’s 100% real lemon juice!
  • Orange blossom water: If you have other extracts you love (regular orange, lemon, etc) you could try them. I think the Orange Blossom Water is what really sets this recipe apart though, so I really don’t recommend making substitutions for it!
