This honey mustard chicken recipe is made with 6 ingredients in 30 minutes. It’s a quick, easy and healthy main dish recipe perfect for busy weeknights.
Combine marinade ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Place chicken breasts in the bowl and turn to coat with the marinade. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 2-6 hours, or at room temperature for 30-60 minutes.
Make the Sauce
Combine mustard & honey, in a small bowl and whisk to combine.
Bake & Serve
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Remove chicken breasts from the marinade.
Place them in a 9x13” baking dish.
Sprinkle each breast with salt and pepper.
Add honey mustard sauce to the top of each breast.
Bake in preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until the internal temperature is 165 degrees F. (baking time depends greatly on the thickness of your chicken breasts).
Serve warm.

Ingredient Substitutions
Chicken breasts. We prefer boneless, skinless chicken breasts. However you can use chicken breast tenderloins, or chicken thighs. Just make sure to adjust the cook time accordingly.
Olive oil. Any neutral oil works well in this recipe such as avocado oil or canola oil.
Dijon mustard. Substitute you favorite mustard variety. If you like spicy then choose a mustard with a kick!
Lemon juice. fresh or bottled lemon juice can be used in this recipe.
Minced garlic. 1 teaspoon garlic powder is a good substitute for the 1 tablespoon of minced garlic in this recipe.
Honey. Maple syrup is a delicious substitute for honey!
