These Bacon Wrapped Green Beans are an impressive vegetable side dish. Green beans are wrapped in bacon then sprinkled in a seasoned brown sugar mixture and baked!
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (204 degrees Celsius).
Blanch the Green Beans
Bring 5 quarts of water to a boil
Add green beans and cook for 3 minutes
Drain and rinse in cold water until they are no longer warm.
Then, transfer the cooled beans to a paper-towel lined plate and pat dry.
Assemble
Combine brown sugar, sea salt, garlic powder and pepper in a bowl.
Remove the bacon from the package and put it on a cutting board all in one piece (the way it is in the package). Cut the entire "block" of bacon in half, lengthwise.
Wrap ½ of a slice bacon around 5-6 green beans.
Repeat until all the bacon and beans are used.
Brush each bundle with melted butter.
Then, sprinkle about ½ teaspoon of the brown sugar mixture on each bundle.
Bake & Serve
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes, or until the green beans are tender and bacon is cooked.
If desired, sprinkle a touch of additional salt and pepper over the bundles before serving.
