This healthy pumpkin smoothie is a nutritious way to satisfy your pumpkin spice cravings this fall. It's like a liquid pumpkin pie in a glass but made with good-for-you ingredients like pumpkin, bananas, Greek yogurt, fall spices and maple syrup. This pumpkin pie smoothie is easy to make in 5 minutes in the blender.
Place the ingredients in the order listed in the container of a Vitamix blender.
Blend, starting on low speed and increasing to high until the mixture is smooth (about 30 -60 seconds).
Serve immediately plain, or with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for a special healthy treat.

How to Freeze Pumpkin Puree For Smoothies
If you have extra pumpkin puree, I recommend freezing it in ice cube trays. That way you can use the frozen pumpkin in this smoothie for an even thicker, creamier final result.Homemade Pumpkin Pie SpiceUse this recipe to make your own homemade pumpkin pie spice! Or, to make only 1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice combine:
1 ½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp cloves
½ tsp allspice
Ingredient Substitutions
Milk. Choose your favorite milk variety to use in this pumpkin smoothie. Whole or 2% milk, Almond milk, coconut milk, etc. The higher the fat content of the variety you choose, the creamier the final product will be.
Vanilla Yogurt. I like to use a full-fat, creamy vanilla yogurt like Vanilla Greek Yogurt or and Icelandic Vanilla Bean yogurt. You can choose your favorite, or use a dairy-free variety to make this pumpkin pie smoothie dairy-free. If you choose an unsweetened yogurt, you may need to add more maple syrup.
Pumpkin Puree. Use a pure, unsweetened pumpkin puree either canned or fresh/homemade. Do not use pumpkin pie filling.
Maple Syrup. Honey or agave can be used in place of maple syrup.
Vanilla extract. You can use vanilla bean seeds or vanilla bean paste if you don't have extract.
Frozen Banana. Using a frozen banana makes a thick and creamy smoothie, I don't recommend changing this ingredient.
Ice. Using ice helps thicken up this pumpkin smoothie, feel free to omit if you are using frozen pumpkin and frozen bananas.
Yes! you can add about 1 cup of spinach (fresh or frozen) to this pumpkin smoothie recipe. It will not change the taste of the recipe at all, but it will change the color!
