How to Make Hamburgers
Let’s walk through how to make homemade hamburger patties step by step, and don’t forget to watch the video!
Begin by preheating the grill to high (about 450 to 500 degrees F)
Then, combine the ground beef, barbecue sauce and 1 Tablespoon Montreal seasoning in a large bowl.
Next, form the mixture into 8, quarter-pound patties that are about 4โ in diameter. Set the patties on a large baking sheet.
Brush one side of the patties with olive oil and use the remaining Montreal seasoning to lightly sprinkle each patty (you will be sprinkling both sides of the patties to use the seasoning accordingly).
Then, flip the hamburger patties and repeat, brushing the second side with olive oil and sprinkling with seasoning.
Once the patties are ready, grill the burgers on the first side for 3-4 minutes, flip and grill on the second side for 3 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 155 to 160 degrees F in the center (this varies depending on how you like your burgers cooked and the thickness of your patties).
Prepare in Advance
You can also form the patties in advance to grill later in the day, or the next day).
To do this, form the patties and place them on the baking sheet. Cover the baking sheet in plastic wrap and store the formed hamburger patties in the refrigerator.
Remove them from the refrigerator to warm close to room temperature about 30 minutes before grilling.

Serve immediately on homemade hamburger buns with your preferred condiments alongside your favorite barbecue side dishes.
