We had a wonderful June that included traveling, a summer fair, lots of sports and celebrations.

“I can’t remember all the times I tried to tell myself to hold on to these moments as they pass.”

Welcome to โ€œMomentsโ€ here on JoyFoodSunshine. This is when I pause my usual recipe content, and take time to share our family’s favorite moments from the month!

Here are some highlights from June 2025!

Recipes I’m Making on Repeat

Here are some recipes I made for my family this month:

Things I’m Loving

Here are my favorite things so far this summer! I’ve actually had a lot of fun sharing my favorite things both in and outside of the kitchen over on my shopmy storefront. There is a “home” section where I’m dropping all the links for the items I’ve purchased for our home renovation that I’ll be sharing soon! So please check it out!

  • Leopard Slip Dress. I love this dress. It’s more affordable than the cove dress and it’s so easy to wear year round. I often wear it with a sweater over it in the fall/winter. The print is subtle and a perfect warmish neutral.
  • THESE SHORTS. Ok I’ve had these paige brooklyn shorts for two summers now and they’re so much more comfortable than jean shorts. I find myself reaching for them every time I get dressed in the summer!
  • Pool bag. So many people have told me they love this bag as much as I do. Seriously – it has lasted me 2 summers so far and it’s been amazing.
  • This seamless tank is my go-to for underneath crochet tops and just to wear around the house when I need something comfy and don’t feel like wearing a bra! I have sensory issues and have trouble finding clothes like this that I think are actually comfortable – and this top is it!

NEW June Recipes

Here’s a recap of the brand new recipes I shared this month – I went a little overboard and published more than usual because they’re all so delicious I just had to share!

  • Fruit & yogurt parfaits. Easy to meal prep & my husband’s favorite breakfast!
  • โ€‹BLT Pasta Salad.โ€‹ A next-level delicious summer side dish.
  • Cottage Cheese Scrambled Eggs. I’ve been making these almost daily this summer because my body has been craving protein and these totally deliver.
  • Cacio e pepe. A classic Italian dish ready in 15 minutes.
  • Layered greek dip. I revamped this old favorite. It’s the perfect summer appetizer.
  • American flag cake. Make it for your 4th of July celebrations!
  • Peanut butter rice crispy treats. A classic no-bake dessert that I make on repeat.

Summer COFFEE!

I started the habit of drinking cold brew coffee every day on the beach when we were in FL in May, and now I can’t stop. So check out all these recipes:

  • Cold brew coffee better that the coffee shop.
  • Simple syrup. The easiest way to sweeten cold coffee beverages.
  • Iced Coffee – made two ways.
  • Coffee ice cubes. So your cold coffee drinks don’t get watered down. Total game changer.
  • Coffee smoothie. Because why not make a smoothie with your leftover cold brew?! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Snapshots

I started this month going on a work retreat with some amazing recipe creators. It was truly the best week and I’m so grateful for the time spent with these beautiful people.

My friends Holly & Natalie from The Modern Proper planned the trip and it was so relaxing and productive (at the same time). We stayed at a beautiful Inn outside of Santa Barbara. We ate delicious food, biked through wine country and I learned so much from these amazing women. I love getting to take time to just “be” a business owner and dream about the future without interruption!

I flew home, dropped my bags and went to our town’s fair with my family. It’s a yearly tradition and we always have the best time.

Then, I was home for less than 24 hours before going up to Park City to celebrate my friend’s 40th birthday. It was such a gorgeous weekend and it was so fun to be with friends. Any other 1985 babies out there? 40 is coming for all of us this year if it hasn’t already! ๐Ÿ™‚

The next weekend we celebrated Father’s Day. I made oatmeal cream pies for Ritch and we all loved celebrating him.

We’re in the full swing of sports this summer. Our 6 kids are in 3 different sports so it’s the first year we have to divide and conquer. I actually had a blast taking these 3 to their swim meet while Ritch took the other 3 to their sports (well, Z just hung out).

I was a swimmer so these summer swim meets just make me so happy. And the girls are doing amazing.

Went on a girls’ day date with my two oldest daughters to Park City. It was fun walking around all the cute shops with them!

We finished the month getting all dressed up and going to our friends’ daughter’s wedding. It’s crazy to be in the phase of life when our friends’ kids are getting married! We had the best day and the girls were absolutely enthralled with all the wedding festivities.

I got a lot of questions about their dresses. They’re from Nora Lee. I get them each a Nora Lee dress for easter and they wear it to church and to special occasions throughout the spring/summer.

That’s it! June was a very full month and I’m looking forward to a slightly slower-paced July! Summer is going WAY too fast.
