Today I am Elated. Ecstatic. Overjoyed. Delighted. Giddy and totally floating on cloud 9 over here…and it’s all because of this Homemade Honey Roasted Vanilla Bean Peanut Butter. Yes. You heard me right. Honey Roasted Peanut Butter consisting of Honey roasted peanuts, raw cocoa butter and aromatic vanilla beans come together to make this deliciously irresistible peanut butter.

I seriously couldn’t be any more in love with a spread. This homemade peanut butter recipe is creamy & dreamy and absolutely bursting with deep, rich flavors. Of course (you saw this coming), it is so easy to make (think less than 5 minutes) thanks to my Vitamix.

How to Make Honey Roasted Peanut Butter in a Vitamix!

If you love making homemade peanut butter like I do, then I absolutely recommend using a Vitamix blender. It does the job better than any other kitchen appliance out there. A food processor works too, but it takes a touch longer and the result isn’t quite as creamy.

Use the Tamper

The number one piece of advice I can give you when it comes to making homemade nut butter in the Vitamix is to use the tamper! As soon as you start blending use the tamper to push the peanuts into the blades! Don’t stop tamping until the mixture becomes smooth!

Add Other Ingredients Last & Pulse to Combine

Certain ingredients such as honey, maple syrup, etc. can cause nut butters to seize up and become difficult to blend. Be sure to add such ingredients after the nuts have reached your desired consistency to avoid this issue. Since the desired consistency has already been achieved, simply pulse to combine the extra ingredients.

It’s amazing how you can just toss the peanuts in the Vitamix, turn it on and watch the magic happen. See those flecks of vanilla bean perfection.

Homemade Honey Roasted Peanut Butter Recipe: Ingredients & Substitutions

As always, the quality of ingredients you use will determine the deliciousness of your final product. In my years of making homemade peanut butter.

Honey Roasted Peanuts

I have found that Trader Joe’s honey roasted peanuts yield the absolute best homemade peanut butter ever. If you’d prefer to use regular peanuts, or roast your own, that is totally great too.

Cocoa butter

Since I try to avoid dairy, it is hard for me to find ingredients that are excellent fat substitutes that don’t make the final product taste like coconut. However, this raw cocoa butter totally wins, plus it’s super high in antioxidants and smells like heaven. If you don’t keep cocoa butter on hand, feel free to substitute ghee or coconut oil.

Vanilla Beans

I have professed my love for vanilla beans in this recipe post. They impart such a deep, rich flavor to this peanut butter that I can’t even begin to explain in words. I seriously just grab a spoon and dive on in. I’ve made homemade peanut butter more times than I can count. But this recipe takes the cake. Of course, if you don’t have vanilla beans you could substitute vanilla extract…although I highly recommend using beans if you can. Vanilla bean paste is also a great alternative.

  1. I just gotta make this!! I’m a total peanut butter lover and this flavored honey version sounds so amazing – and looks absolutely incredible! I’m gonna have a hard time not just taking a spoon to the jar ALL day long ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I want this on everything, haha. It looks so good! <3 I love honey roasted peanuts, and the addition of vanilla makes this perfect! <3

  3. 5 stars
OOH WOW; I love roasted peanuts, and adding raw cocoa butter plus vanilla sounds absolutely delicious; do you find that the Vitamix is the best for nut butter? The only thing that I don’t like about it is that it gets stuck in the bottom? Although that means I can lick it out. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Hey Emily! YES! I actually just got a newer Vitamix (750) and the container is wider so it’s SO much easier to get delicious goodies out of it than with my older, taller, skinner model! I do think the Vitamix yields the creamiest nut butters! Although if someone is in a pinch and doesn’t have a great blender then a food processor works too, it just takes longer to achieve a super creamy consistency!

  4. Gosh, just this picture alone make my want to make this right now! I can’t wait to try this recipe at home!

  5. I wish I could lick the screen..in fact that’s the invention I need to work on…see amazing recipe and be able to taste it ASAP!

  6. I love homemade nut butter – and the addition of vanilla sounds like a great added touch. It sounds like I need to pull out the ol’ food processor again soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I was drooling over this on Instagram and I love that you used cocoa butter in it because I have 2 big blocks to use up…. which I guess would be a lot of delicious nut butter! I love making my own nut butter at home and can’t wait to try this, I just need some honey roasted peanuts or I’d be in blending it right now!

  8. Honey roasted peanuts are my weakness. Actually so is anything vanilla flavoured. I got a vanilla scented candle last christmas, and it is the best thing that has ever happened to me!
I’d love to make my own peanut butter but I am terrified of breaking my flatmates blender.

    1. You need to get yourself a Vitamix! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Seriously it was the best investment I ever made! I use it so much! Do you have a food processor? Before I got a great blender I made nut butters in my food processor!

  9. Love that this is made in the vitamix which means I’m gonna go do that soon! This nut butter plus apple slices sounds like the most perfect snack ever ๐Ÿ™‚
