Summer please never end – here are July moments!

“I can’t remember all the times I tried to tell myself to hold on to these moments as they pass.”
Welcome to “Moments” here on JoyFoodSunshine. This is when I interrupt my typical recipe content, and take time to share our family’s favorite moments from the month! Here it is for July 2026!

My Favorite Things– July
Here are my 7 favorite things for July. Find all my favorite things here or in my Amazon shop.
- Face Sunscreen Stick. This is my favorite face sunscreen because my kids can put it on themselves and it goes on clear!
- In a similar vein – I keep this aquaphor stick in my beach bag and pool bag. It’s like chapstick for the skin and my kids use it all the time.
- 9×13″ glass baking dish with a lid is one of my favorite kitchen items. I use it for brownies, cinnamon rolls, and so much more.
- These foundation drops – they are incredible for a glowy, light finish!
- Favorite linen set – I wear this shirt and these shorts to and from the pool and love them!
- These Sunglasses. I’m super picky about my sunglasses, I found a pair I loved years ago and they stopped making them (right after I melted part of the frame with my curling iron haha). I’ve been searching ever since for a new pair and these are IT! I absolutely love them.
- I bought these jeans for my teenage daughter and she loves them. Check out my teen girls and teen boys finds for back to school!

Recipes I’m Making on Repeat
I cooked a lot this month but only took photos of a couple things – oops! My oatmeal cookies (I made them with gluten-free flour and they were amazing) and cinnamon rolls!

Snapshots
The absolute highlight of my month was when one of my closest and oldest friends came to visit with her family. Ariel is the most incredible woman I know. We’ve been friends since high school and she was instrumental in me coming to know Jesus. I absolutely cherish the time our families get to spend together.
We had so much fun just being together from swimming in the pool to hiking in the mountains. Our kids absolutely adore each other so everything we do is a blast.

We celebrated America’s 250th with lots of swimming, a parade, good food and fireworks.

And we got to go to church together – which brought me so much joy. Friendships like these are the greatest gift, and so rare. I can honestly say my life would be so much different if God didn’t bring Ariel into it – and I think Him every day for her!

Then, less than 24 hours after they left, we flew out to Florida for a little beach getaway. It was perfect.

We got home and the next day was Ritch’s birthday. I had made him an eclair cake and put it in the freezer before we left. So we just got to come home and celebrate him!

And our kids had their last swim meet of the summer, I truly can’t believe how fast it’s flying by.

And that’s all she wrote! Here’s to August – remember, summer isn’t over yet.

Such a beautiful family!!
Thank you Eloise!
