Whipped Goat Cheese: Ingredients & Substitutions
- Goat cheese. I recommend using a log – not pre-crumbled cheese. Or, try this whipped feta dip!
- Greek yogurt. sour cream is a good substitute for Greek yogurt.
- Olive oil. avocado oil works great.
- Lemon juice. freshly squeezed or bottled are both good choices.
- Honey. I don’t recommend substitutes for honey.
- Minced garlic. If desired, substitute ½ teaspoon garlic powder for the minced garlic.
How to Make Whipped Goat Cheese
Let’s walk through this whipped goat cheese recipe step-by-step, and be sure to watch the video for additional guidance.
Begin by crumbling the log of goat cheese in a food processor fitted with the “S” blade.
Then, add the Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice and minced garlic and process until smooth.
Next, add the coriander, cumin, pepper and honey and process until combined.
Transfer the whipped goat cheese from the food processor to a serving bowl. You can either serve it immediately, or you can cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour.
I prefer to chill the recipe because it thickens as it chills and the flavors really blend together well.
Serve
Garnish the whipped goat cheese dip with fresh herbs (if desired – parsley, basil, dill) and a drizzle of olive oil.
Serve it as an starter with crackers, pita chips, pita bread, fresh veggies, or homemade naan! Or, use it as a spread on toast or sandwiches!
We love serving it with some of our other favorite appetizers for game day or a summer BBQ!
Store/Freeze
Store leftover goat cheese dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Or in the freezer for up to 1 month.
Thaw slowly overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
