This baked scrambled eggs recipe is the easiest way to make the most delicious, fluffy scrambled eggs! They’re perfect for feeding a crowd or meal prepping a healthy breakfast for the week!

Ever since I started making these oven baked scrambled eggs, I rarely ever use the stovetop to make them anymore.
They’re perfect for feeding a crowd or meal prepping ahead for busy mornings. Baked scrambled eggs turn out perfectly every time, always fully and flavorful with minimal effort. I recently hosted a group of 20 high school and collage students (plus my own family) and made a quadruple batch of these eggs and they all got devoured with lots comments like, “I don’t know what you did to the eggs but they were amazing!”
It’s the easiest way to make scrambled eggs that taste just as good (if not better) than stovetop—without the hassle. I love serving them with oven baked bacon and a smoothie for a delicious breakfast. Or I use them to make our favorite breakfast sandwiches!

Baked Scrambled Eggs: Ingredients & Substitutions

- Salted butter. Unsalted butter works great too! You could grease the pan with olive oil, but butter really adds flavor and moisture to the recipe so I don’t suggest skipping it.
- Heavy Cream. I recommend heavy cream for the creamiest, fluffiest eggs with the best flavor. Half and half is the next best choice, followed by whole milk. Using whole milk makes fluffy eggs that just aren’t as rich and creamy, but they’re still delicious.
- Cheddar cheese. Use your favorite shredded cheese, or use cottage cheese for even more protein.
- Garlic Powder. This is optional but highly recommended for flavorful eggs!

How to Make Oven Baked Scrambled Eggs
This recipe really is so simple, but we’ll walk through it together like always. And don’t forget to watch the video!
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius).
While it’s preheating, whisk the eggs, cream, salt and pepper together in a large mixing bowl or batter bowl.

Then, put the butter into a 9×9″ (23cm) square baking dish in the preheated oven until it’s melted. This takes about 5 minutes, and I suggest setting a timer so you don’t forget and accidentally brown the butter.

Once the butter is melted, pour the egg mixture into the pan over the melted butter and bake the eggs for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, remove the eggs from the oven, add the cheese and stir, making sure to scrape down the sides, edges and bottoms.

Don’t forget the cheese
I usually make this recipe when I’m rushed or while I’m cooking dinner and managing tons of things at once. So, I can’t tell you how many times I have just forgotten to add the cheese during baking. You can always add it at the end and mix it into the eggs while they’re still warm if this happens to you. They do taste good without the cheese, but better with it!

Return to oven and bake an additional 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes until the eggs are done.

Stirring every 5 minutes ensures you get super fluffy eggs, so be sure to set a timer so you don’t forget.

Once they’re done, you can give them a final stir before serving. Or, you can leave them a little more solid if you want to use them for breakfast sandwiches.

Serve
Serve the baked scrambled eggs warm with your favorite breakfast foods like baked bacon, cinnamon rolls, Greek yogurt pancakes, homemade waffles, etc. I also use them to make these breakfast sandwiches and they’re so good!
You can garnish the eggs with chopped fresh herbs like parsley, or with an extra sprinkle of cheese and a dash of salt and pepper.
