3 Fruit & Yogurt Parfaits in jars

When I was a kid, no road trip was complete without a stop for breakfast at the golden arches, and no menu item is quite as nostalgic as the fruit and yogurt parfait from McDonalds!

So, I decided to create a more nutritious, less sugary, homemade version with this yogurt parfait recipe! I am very passionate about healthy breakfast recipes!

In this recipe, a delicious strawberry and jam mixture and granola are layered between creamy vanilla yogurt for a hearty breakfast that will keep you full until lunch.

Fruit & Yogurt Parfait: Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Strawberries. The delicious fruit filling in the parfait is made of strawberries. Fresh is by far the best choice.
  • Strawberry jam. this is mixed with the diced strawberries. You can use any flavor you like such as apricot (delicious), raspberry, etc. I do suggest seedless jam for the best results.
  • Vanilla yogurt. We prefer a thick Icelandic or Greek yogurt, but you can choose your favorite variety and flavor.
  • Granola. Homemade granola is the best (also try peanut butter granola), or use your favorite store-bought variety.
  • Additional berries. We like to top our yogurt parfaits with additional berries. You can just use more strawberries or different berries like blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc.

Begin by chopping the strawberries into bite-sized pieces, then transfer them to a mixing bowl.

Serve

I love serving these yogurt parfaits after they have chilled overnight because some of the granola gets slightly soft, and I think that’s the best part!

Serve them chilled with your favorite toppings.
