Avocados. Is there any other food as perfect and versatile as an avocado? Guacamole? Yes. Creamy smoothies? Yum. Avocado basil sauce? Yes and YES! This recipe is one of my all-time favorites. I eat it with this dish most often, but have used it to top salads or just eaten it with a spoon. This sauce adds so much flavor using minimal, healthy ingredients! I can’t think of one person who wouldn’t be able to eat this sauce unless they were awesome-intolerant. My kids love it mixed into their noodles (or “nooNels” as my son calls them).
Avocados are one of my top 10 favorite foods. On the rare occasion we do go out to eat, I often choose to order a salad because “avocado” is listed in the ingredients. Then, when it arrives, much to my horror and disappointment there are only two measly cubes of the good stuff on top. My husband usually keeps me from making a scene, and I just lament the travesty in silence. At home, however, I can pile on the avocado in sauce form until my heart’s content. So I do.
I got this recipe from another one of my favorite blogs, OhSheGlows! You can find the original recipe here!
